This book was the basis for the William Holden movie, "The 7th Dawn", depicting what the British called "The Malay Emergency", the emergence of Communism in SouthEast Asia following WW II. While the French and later the US were fighting the Communists in Viet Nam, so were the British in neighboring Malaysia. An interesting insight into the politics of government.
