French Connection Women's Nanette

These are not shoes designed to be comfortable. They are not particularly comfortable. They look very good, and that's the point.

This is one of those pairs of shoes that I would wear all day despite the pain they caused just because they're so beautiful. Very well constructed with nice materials. The only flaw I noticed was a bit of glue around the edges of the leather toe-band. The black and white woven design is really unique and catches the eye. They somehow feel a bit taller than they appear in the photo. I have numerous heels this height but maybe just the ankle strap design makes them feel a bit more precarious. The footbed is softer than that of most heels this height, which is nice. I went with a half-size up and they were a bit tight around the toe but the leather would presumably stretch a bit over time. I will unfortunately be returning because they're not as practical or comfortable as I had hoped they would be (wishful thinking, perhaps) and I doubt that I would wear them often enough to justify the cost on a intern's "salary". Overall though, a really stunning shoe that creates beautiful lines and is incredibly flattering.

Despite all bad reviews, I had ordered these pair to try them by myself. Yes they look gorgeous, yes I paid less than half the price of what I had to pay to department stores BUT they are not worth it at all. I ordered 38 though I wear 37 because everybody was complaining about their tight strips, still strips were tight again. The sole is obviously large on my feet but both the front and anckle strips are tight. The back ones kinda look awkward, they sit higher on the front and lower in the back. Awkward and very uncomfortable. I hate to say all negative things but I got very disappointed with them. It's like you give all gorgeous materials to a nonprofessional shoemaker who just couldn't follow show making standards. I am returning them.

They look better in the picture and the strap across the toes is way too tight.

I gave these shoes a 3 star because they are beautiful, but unfortunately they didn't fit me at all. I'm usually a size 8 1/2 on this style of shoe (and bought an 8 1/2) but these ones just didn't fit me. Their 8 1/2 would fit a 7 1/2 i guess... I also have wide feet but haven't had a problem with other shoes/brands, Guess, Calvin Klein etc. So, I'm returning them or will sell them to someone else :)

Another great shoe by French Connection. A bit wide but not too much. The fact that it was an ankle strap makes it all better. Comfy for walking.
