Amazing knife - replaced my all my others
Coming into this, I wasn't sure what to expect, having never owned a Paudin knife before. I'm glad I tried it out because this knife is amazing. The packaging is great and I was very impressed with the presentation and experience when opening it up. The knife feels great in the hand, very well balanced, and I love that the blade metal extends all the way to the end of the handle. The handle looks great and seems to be of excellent quality as well. The craftsmanship on the blade itself is also top notch, with the hammered pattern looking extremely nice. Honestly this knife just felt and looked great immediately. It got even better though once I started using it to actually cut. Wow is this thing sharp. Everything feels like butter now. I normally sharpen all my knives, but this one was very sharp out of the box. Looking at the quality of this knife overall, I have no doubts that it'll remain sharp and that the blade will hold up after years of use.Overall: 5/5. I'd definitely buy again, this one has already replaced my other expensive santoku knife. I'll be buying more (maybe all!) of the Paudin knives in the future.

Looks nice, slices well, but...
The blade is solid and one piece, and the serrated edge slices bread with ease. However, for the bread knife I received, the polishing on the hilt/handle was incomplete and left exposed metal edges that could easily scratch or give a ‘paper cut’ like slit to your hand or finger. You can see the metal edges that are not fully flush against the wood. Will likely ask for a return and swap for a new knife.Update 7/15: the Paudin team sent me a replacement knife although it was not the same model. I applaud their genuine efforts and very courteous customer service, and for that I increased their rating +1 star.

Great product with very good value, highly recommended!!
I have bought a couple of different sets of knives in the past, usually I have found them struggle with maintaining their edge, or just generally aren't very good quality. This is definitely not the case with this set of knives! I have only had these a few days, but I absolutely love them. Aside of their beautiful looks, they are very solid and build like a diamond. While I was preparing some meals for the week, the chef's knife makes short work of a whole, thick boneless skinless chicken breast, I was able to cube it up in no time; slicing steaks off of a boneless ribeye was just as easy as a chore. The wood block is sturdy and enhances the attractiveness of the set. This beautiful set of knives are very giftable for its value too. I highly recommend this product as house warming gift!

Well balanced great quality knife
Used to have victorinox kitchen knife which is OK but never feel great. Wife loves sushi so we decide to buy a good knife to cut salmon for sashimi. This one caught my attention due to the name of the manufactuer which is linked to a myth about an ancient chinese chef who can cut off a whole cow without breaking his knife!!The knife arrived in two days thanks to now 1-day free Prime Shipping. It comes with a good black paper box, OK but not really give you a luxury kind feel. Really, for a 50 bucks knife? However, when the box is opened and got the knife in hand, the box is no longer an issue. What a shining knife! A bit heavy but very well balanced. The wood handle give a very comfortable grip. Salmon is definitely not a problem. We got couple lobsters yesterday from a sale so decide to try them with this knife. Guess what, it cuts through them like nothing! Wow!

WOW, what a bargain!!!
I bought this knife on a whim. Caught my eye and the price seemed fair. I've posted a pic of this knife along side my former go to Henckel knife that I have been using for more than 15 years. I've cut carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes all with ease and that was done after my wife used it to cut near frozen deer meat My wife used the knife this morning to cut deer meat for jerky. When we cut the deer meat we have to cut it partially thawed so we can get a thin slice. She loved the knife for this task. There really is nothing bad to say about this knife. It seems to be built extremely well. The shape will take a little getting used to as you can see it is quite different than the knife I normally use but I am sure it will continue to love it. I am sure this knife will be in our family for many many years.

Ugh
I’m 95% positive there are only really 10 knife sets circulating in the US. All dull and useless. Passed from one hapless consumer to another. Could the knives at least be sharpened before being sent to yet another hopeful yutz just trying to cut baby carrots into slivers for their young? Why is the whole knife life so perplexing. I know I must be missing something, in addition to a sharp edge.
