Osprey Europe Hikelite 28

I tried for the first time on the weekend. 23km hike with a 8kg weight. Pack was super comfy. Very happy. I think the 28L will just be big enough and not allow me to over pack unnecessary items.

The Osprey Hikelite 28 backpack is an ideal companion for hiking in any weather condition. It manages to strike a perfect balance between being lightweight and remarkably spacious, making it a reliable choice for outdoor enthusiasts. As expected from Osprey, this backpack offers quality features that enhance its functionality.Upon first inspection, I was pleasantly surprised by its lightweight design, weighing in at just 990g. Considering the extensive list of features and the comprehensive back harness, this weight is truly impressive. Holding the backpack in my hands, I could immediately sense its durability and attention to detail.The main compartment of the Hikelite 28 is surprisingly cavernous, despite Osprey labelling it as a 28L pack. When loading it up with gear, it feels larger than its designated capacity. The zip opening extends halfway down each side of the bag, allowing for easy and convenient packing. Additionally, there is a stash pouch on the front of the pack and a decent-sized zip pocket at the top, providing extra storage options.What impressed me the most were the two large elastic pockets on the sides of the bag. Each pocket can easily accommodate two water bottles, and they are securely designed, preventing items from falling out even when bending down. I even found it possible to retrieve a bottle from these pockets while on the move with a bit of contortion.Once fully loaded and worn on my back, the Hikelite 28 proved to be extremely comfortable. The trampoline-style harness not only adds to the comfort but also enhances ventilation, keeping you cool during long hikes. The backpack features two convenient pockets on the hip belt, one zippered and one elasticated, providing quick access to essentials.Other notable features include a high-quality rain cover, a built-in whistle on the sternum strap for emergencies, and the option to accommodate a hydration reservoir. However, I managed to securely stash it using a side pocket and compression strap.One aspect to consider is that when loaded with water bottles, the pack feels quite wide. This might pose a slight inconvenience if navigating through narrow gaps or passages, but it shouldn't be a major issue for most hikers.

I can't rate this highly enough. Very good build quality and extremely comfortable. The ventilated back has the added advantage of holding any awkward shaped objects away from your back. When carrying a heavy load, the weight sits nearly on your hips rather than pulling down on your shoulders.

I’m part of an online travel group and whenever anyone has asked for recommendations on backpacks Osprey I’d always named so I was excited to try this pack out. The design is outstanding, the mesh airspeed design helps support weight and keep your back cool. There is a too pocket with keychain clip for sorting small items and a section for a water pouch. At the bottom of the bag is a rain cover, in light rain the back is pretty resistant but this provides additional coverage in heavy fall. There are numerous adjustable straps to obtain the best comfort and for carrying walking poles. The side pockets are wide and stretchy perfect for drinks bottles which don’t fall out. There is a safety whistle in the too strap and pockets in the hip straps, these are handy for accessing items quickly, such as phones. I can see why these bags have a sterling reputation, I’ve been very impressed so far and can’t wait to use this bag more.

Excellent quality hiking backpack. Comfortable to wear over long periods of time as well. The backpack comes with a waterproof cover as well so you won’t need to purchase it separately. We also have the hiking bag from the brand for our toddler as well, so are aware of the quality. May be considered expensive but definitely worth every penny.

Der Rucksack ist sehr leicht und komfortabel zu tragen. Die Aufteilung der Innenfächern ist super praktisch und die Qualität des Rucksacks ist sehr gut. Absolute Kaufempfehlung.

Le sac à dos est léger confortable et respirant. Très pratique en été, la toile tendue aérée à l'arrière ne tient pas trop chaud et on transpire bien moins qu'avec un sac à dos classique. C'est de loin le sac a dos le plus confortable que j'ai essayé !Petit bémol : manque de compartiments ou poches à l'intérieur.

Sehr schöner Rucksack, aber für meine Bedürfnisse leider nicht mit genug Organizer Staufächern ausgestattet. Wer nur für Klamotten Platz braucht und einen kompakten Rucksack sucht wird sicherlich glücklich, aber wer viel Kleinkram noch mit dabei hat, ist mMn hier nicht ganz richtig. Ich bin dann bei Vaude gelandet.
