The Walker Book of Poetry for Children Hardcover – 1 Jan. 1982

I have not yet received this book but feel well qualified to appraise this wonderful work of poetryas I have already purchased two copies in the past. The first, when my daughter begged me for a copy when only 10 (she is now 31 and has a 1 year old of her own) at a book sale at junior school. It was probably the best £18 -approx. and a really considered purchase at the time- I ever spent on a child's book. Funny, Hilarious, is an understatement, it became a regular fun (and at times belly laughing tears in the eyes experience) bedtime read for her and me together, howling over elephops and elephons... a poem about an elephant and many more rhymes too!I knew years later that this would be the one book my daughter would take with her when she left home, over any other one.So I set about searching for one to keep at home (to repeat the experience if we would be lucky enough to be blessed with Grandchildren) as it was by this time out of print. I found one eventually for very little money in comparison to the original and am now I am repeating the purchase a third time for a dear friends daughter as an add on birthday gift. I do hope they enjoy the book as much as my daughter and I have done? This really is a book that should be considered for re-print!

Presents for my whole family. We were given one by my parents, Walkers, some years ago. It is the best collection ever.

arrived well packed and as described

has it as a kid and have rediscovered the joy of a collection of poems, ditties and limericks that really stoked my imagination. really shouldn't be out of print
