High-Performance, Versatile Laptop for Work and Daily Tasks
I needed a laptop that could handle a little bit of everything—work, casual streaming, and light gaming—and the ASUS Vivobook Go turned out to be the perfect choice. It’s fast, versatile, and strikes the perfect balance between something like a Chromebook and a high-end gaming laptop. I picked it up during a Cyber Monday deal, and I couldn’t be happier with the value it delivers for the price.Performance has been excellent so far. The AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor and 8GB of RAM make this laptop responsive and reliable for everyday use. I’ve run multiple tabs, streamed videos, and even played some lighter games like Rocksmith 2014, and it’s handled everything without lagging or slowing down. It’s not a gaming powerhouse, but for what I need, it’s solid—responsive, consistent, and dependable. One thing I really appreciate is the privacy webcam cover. It’s practical and gives me peace of mind during video calls or meetings. The 15.6” screen is crisp and clear, making it a pleasure to use for both work and entertainment. Videos and documents look sharp, and the size is perfect for multitasking or just enjoying a good session. The integrated AMD Radeon Graphics also do a great job of keeping visuals smooth and consistent.Storage is another standout. The 512GB SSD gives me plenty of space for files, programs, and even a few games, and boot-up times are quick. Windows 11 Home feels intuitive and runs smoothly right out of the box, so setup was fast and hassle-free.The audio quality is pretty solid too. The ASUS SonicMaster speakers deliver clear, balanced sound, making it great for everyday tasks, music, and videos. As someone who’s spent a lot of time with tech, I can say this laptop is a winner. It’s well-built, reliable, and versatile enough to handle a bit of everything. If you’re looking for something that can balance business tasks, light gaming, and casual media consumption without breaking the bank, the Vivobook Go delivers exactly that.Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It does what I need it to do, looks great, and performs smoothly. ASUS nailed it here—this is a solid all-around laptop, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for value, performance, and practical features in one package!

Updated rating - ASUS Support came through
Updated 9-10-2024ASUS support did something in the background and the next time I called the problem with sending an email to my att.net personal email account was fixed. I was able to get the laptop registered and the advertised 1 year accidental damage protection.Updated 8-27-2024. This laptop works fine for its specs but I am totally frustrated by ASUS support. I have been trying to register my laptop with my personal email which is a normal att.net email but for some reason the "verify email" doesn't work. I have been on the phone multiple times with ASUS support and opened they opened 4 separate tickets and each time they tell me they will escalate the issue but it is still not working. They know there is an issue blocking the email - they have told me - but they won't do anything about it and there is no way for them to manually register my laptop. With the laptop there was a card that said it included 1 year of accidental damage protection with registration but I can't get that because I can't register it through their website and they have no way to register it manually. Since I can't get a resolution to this issue after a month and hours on the phone I'm downgrading my review to 1 star.Original review 7/19/2024: Just a warning that the Ram is soldered to the motherboard and there are no expansion slots so you can’t add more unless you have technician level skills with soldering equipment. I opened it up to make sure because when I noticed the “LPDDR5” I realized it would be soldered in. It’s an elegant design that takes a wholistic approach to be as fast as it can be with the components it has and as cool as it can be while saving on power. It looks like it has 2 4gb ram chips so it can take advantage of the dual channel bump in speed. The display is actually 1920 x 1080 so that was a pleasant surprise. If you can get past your ocd about ram like I did and use it like a productivity laptop to do actual work it should be fine. I’ve barely turned it on but so far it has been pleasantly smooth. The build is a little plasticky but it is also very light so even that trade off works for me.

Locked Out twice in 3 months since buying
Bought on Oct 8. 6 - 8 weeks later it would not let me log in. Called Asus support and after a laborious discussion with a rep who was obviously not in this country and spoke broken English we tried to fix the problem, unsuccessfully. She said only solution to wipe everything clean and I would have to reload everything. I am not technically savvy so this took a long time but I got it working. 3 days ago it locked me out again. Called Asus support again. This rep was even harder to understand than the other one. She wanted to take me thru the same laborious process. I said absolutely not. PC is in warranty and it obviously has a problem. They should send me a new PC. She said Asus would have to first diagnose at their repair facility and I would need to pack it and send it there via Fed Ex at my expense. Not cheap, so am debating what to do. When I read reviews before buying this PC I noticed some others had this same issue. Should have taken their warnings and if you are thinking of buying one, please take my warning. Maybe this issue is just with a random PC here and there but you may get a lemon just like me and others. Don't risk it.
