True modern exploration π¦π‘π π
I received this book as a Birthday/Christmas present from my 8 year old son. With hopes his daddy will once again be adventuring again. (Single parenthood can put a lid on it for a while). One assumes that he got some help making the purchase and learning about it possibly an algorithm or ScotSAC who knows? This book found a special place in my heart as I first dived in Taba, Sinai around 18 years old (2003/2004 later qualifying in Cabo Verde) and it was a mesmerising experience. This book was full of everything a true adventure should be travel, foreign culture, calculated risk, developing, striking deals and helping others. With a fantastic back drop my only regret reading this book is that I was not apart of this adventure myself but I have had many of my own.Great photos, artwork and inspiration if this book does not motivate you to get out there and dive nothing will and you are a lost soul.Thank you for such an enjoyable read Howard, a new hero of mine.

The Pioneering Days of Red Sea Diving, Vividly Told
Howard Rosenstein's 'Treasures, Shipwrecks and the Dawn of Red Sea Diving' is an absolute gem. As a diver who has been visiting Sharm for over 25 years I was utterly captivated by his vivid recounting of the pioneering days of Red Sea diving. This book isn't just a historical record; it's a thrilling adventure that transports you to a time of discovery and excitement. Rosenstein's storytelling is superb, weaving together tales of sunken treasure, encounters with marine life, and the complexities of navigating the region's political landscape. I particularly enjoyed the personal anecdotes and the sense of being there alongside him as he explored the uncharted underwater world. The inclusion of fascinating photographs further enhanced the experience. This book is a must-read for anyone with a passion for diving, history, or simply a great adventure story. I thoroughly enjoyed every page.
