Excellent
For 20 years I have been travel/camping by motorcycle. Formuch of this time I have carried a Coleman hatchet (which Ihave kept sharp) for tent pegs and cutting firewood. Thatsaid I have spent a LOT of time chopping firewood... too much.I tried "wire" saws from Coleman and SAS I thought might bemore efficient. No way... the hatchet is so much more efficient.More than a year ago I did a google search for a compact campsaw. I came up with the SABERCUT hand chain saw, ant theUNBELIEVABLE hand saw. Took a look at videos of both on Youtube.Very helpful. The SABERCUT saw is a length of actual chain sawpulled by hand. The UNBELIEVABLE saw features actual saw teethpulled by hand. The videos showed the SABERCUT saw cuts a slottwice as wide as the UNBELIEVABLE saw. Consequently the SABERCUTtook a lot more energy and time to make the same cut as theUNBELIEVABLE saw. Based on this I ordered the UNBELIEVABLE saw.Man, I wish I had this saw years ago. This hand saw really isunbelievable. It cut through 4" diameter deadwood in 25 secs.More recently I used it to cut up perfect 6' diameter firewoodin 90 seconds. I LOVE this hand saw. It rolls up to a 5' diameter, weighs about 6 oz. It takes up practically no space in my pack. The SABERCUT saw costs $26.95, the UNBELIEVABLE saw costs $18.95,both at Amazon.I have to add a few notes if you are going to use and be as happywith this hand saw as I am. The UNBELIEVABLE saw comes from thesupplier/manufacturer completely dry. To maximize its life andcutting ability it HAS to be lubricated. This will take a littletime and effort. To do so I started off by taking a largemayonnaise jar lid and filled it with WD40. I let the saw soak init for two days. Once each day I pulled it out and flexed all thelinks. Following that I used the same container, filled it withchain saw bar oil and let it soak for two days. Man makes all thedifference. The saw must also be used properly. While sawing you MUST keeptension on the saw with both hands while sawing. You follow thesesteps this thing will cut like crazy. Hope you find this helpful.PS: I forgot to add, I fully agree with another reviewer. You wantto keep this saw performing and lasting as long as possible, here'show. The saw should be brushed off and lubed after each use. To achievethis I got a 1' plastic brush from a local dollar store. I cut 5" offthe handle. Next I used a empty 1 oz. eyedropper bottle I got from mymother and filled it with the chain saw bar oil. Both are super compactthat take up no space in my saddlebag. I take 3 minutes to brush offthis saw and then brush in new lube. I love it.Have a couple of notes to add. Originally I tried this saw out underperfect conditions, old dead wood in perfect placement. I have since usedthe saw on somewhat greener wood in less than perfect position. The saw didnot cut as quickly. Took 3 min. to cut a 4" branch/log. It did start to bindup. I was cutting a horizontal log from the bottom up. When it did bind I wasable to quickly solve the problem by propping up the longer length of wood. This took the pressure off the saw cut and it cut through in no time.I still love this saw. But it does take a little common sense to use it to it'smax potential.

Man-Powered Chain Saw
This is listed as a camping saw, but I use it for general yard work around home. This saw is not quite as hefty as my previous manual chain saw, but it was only half the price. For the price, this is a very good, usable saw. It is very handy for those little tree-trimming jobs that don't quite require a gas-powered chain saw. I attach longer ropes at the handles for removing higher branches. (I don't like to climb a ladder with gas-powered saw.)To removed bushes, I dig near the base to expose the main roots. Then, I use this saw to cut the roots a foot or so from the base of the bush. The rest is simple. For this type of job, I prefer the manual saw.I haven't used this saw enough to give an idea of how long it will remain sharp; but so far, so good.

Good, not great.
After reading the reviews, I was pretty excited about this new toy. When I actually got a hold of it, I was not really impressed.First the pros: It is small, has comfortable handles and does do the job with relative ease. The cons: The teeth are not actually sharp, so they work more by ripping the wood fibers rather than by cutting. It has a tendency to bind a bit through the cut, and working it through any kind of sappy wood is very difficult. We decided to use a two-man team to try to decrease the workload, and a simple miscommunication caused the blade to bend to the point where it was unusable. Cleaning the teeth is another problem, as sap gets in between the teeth and cannot really be cleaned out properly. These are understandable issues, as the individual links in the "Chain" are rather thin pieces of metal riveted together in a link.Considering this tool is about 60% of the cost of the other actual "Chainsaw" style blade saws, these cons are not enough for me not to recommend the product to someone on a budget. But I always like to spend a bit more and get something that lasts.

Mean Looking
So I recently bought this item and I have to say that from the looks of it, fire wood stands no chance. As much as I want to give it a test run I have to hold off. I have seen these in action and when I pulled it out and looked at it I knew it had a permanent spot in my survival/camping & hunting pack. No more wasted wood from chopping with hatchets and axes. Yes, this will fit in your pocket! Anyone who is into the outdoors enough and knows survival should consider one. As much as people tell me I am paranoid and overstocked, my motto stays the same. "It is better to have and not need than to need and not have!" That is the truth, don't believe me? Watch the survival shows on the Discovery channel. Anyways, all I can say is that I will be buying one each for the rest of my families camping supplies! Stay outdoors America, that is where life begins.

Absolutely unreal how strong it is.
I just returned from a four day/three night camping excursion where this pocket saw was included in my gear. No one in the camping group initially thought this item was going to work, and assumed it was just like all the cheap wire versions we are used to seeing break immediately. Over the course of the trip this saw was relied upon time and time again to produce firewood, and did its job with ease. One subject, who had brought a really nice and sharp hatchet, actually put his hatchet aside and started using this saw. While the product description says it will cut logs up to 3 inches across we were cutting apart logs four to six inches repeatedly. The most amazing thing about this saw was it seemed to retain all of its sharpness even after the trip! Definitely give this saw a try, as you will be amazed at how capable it is.

Compact and light weight. A little stiff when unpacking it. User needs to be cautious regarding cutting down trees - consider line of fall as the saw may become snagged by the weight of the piece cut. Handles well when used properly.

Bought this along with a couple of similar versions. These are handy stow away items that take up little room, but they take quite some effort to use. Given the choice I would use my Laplander folding hand saw every time. That said, if you like gadgets these are still fun things to own and would do in an emergency.

An amazing saw
Our son-in-law introduced us to this and it removes those larger branches, that would take a while to saw through ordinarily, in a 'jif'( even our son has volunteered to use this! so great for encouraging the family to join in the gardening (LOL)). We have used it to remove a small tree that popped up growing along side one of our apple trees? and removal of branches, it is so easy to use - I am not a strong female but I can use it with ease (if you can get a look in - the males in our family are so keen to test it!)Excellent item, perfect gift for the man who has everything (if he has a garden), we have only tried it on a tree with a diameter of approx 8 inches it was like slicing butter our son did this without any effort and so quickly.Quick delivery - perfect thankyouย The Unbelievable SawThe Unbelievable Saw
