Loads of fun
If you have gear that is lightweight enough to cast these little lures (I use the one inchers) they are a blast when fish are in a surface feeding mode as they run about a foot deep. I have caught everything from panfish/crappie to trout and bass. Hooking up with a decent sized bass with the light to ultra-light gear used to fish these little lures is wild. A steady retrieve to twitching/jerking works, depending on the mood of the fish.[edit] I just took a glance at the one star reviews. Don't let the complaints affect your decision about this lure. As is often the case, what we have here is an issue with customers who don't do adequate research into the product. The lure is offered in different sizes. The one inch lure has one hook at the tail. Larger versions also have a second hook at the ventral position.

Seems very effective, but didn't have it long enough to rate consistency(my own fault).
Bittersweet experience. Purchased this lure after reading positive feedback on its use with cold weather trout fishing. Arrived today in the mail and was at the lake just a couple hours later. Landed a brown trout on my first cast in an area I had not had any action in over a week using other lures and bait. After a few more casts, I snagged something on the bottom and the line snapped. Hate to throw down another $11 on such a small lure but presently contemplating it. The lure lives up to the reviews.

Not that impressed
I been slowly working this through schools of hatchery trout and no bits so not sure if it needs a swivel snap or straight tie to the fishing line.
