Easy installation, fantastic image quality
This item was easy to install and the video quality is excellent. Everything was "as advertised." I wired the camera to the backup bulb at the rear of my vehicle, so the camera comes on only when the car's transmission is in reverse. The monitor itself is powered through the cigarette lighter, and once the car is switched to "drive", the monitor automatically shuts off due to no signal coming from the rear camera, which I like. For my vehicle, I needed to connect the black wire of the camera to the negative wire of the bulb, since the camera did not work if I attached the black wire of the camera to a ground screw on the vehicle. That was the only issue I had.I placed a small item on the ground just behind the car, adjusted the settings of the monitor to the "red zone" when approaching the item, thus completing the distance calibration step. I now feel safe navigating through busy parking lots and garages.

Does the Job
I installed this camera in my 2009 Toyota Sienna three weeks ago. Install went well. What I did not notice prior to purchasing the camera was that the antenna sticks out of the back of the display. My intent was to use a couple of rubber wrist bracelets to hold the display in place on the back of my visor and just fold down the visor when I was backing up. But, the protruding antenna was a problem. So, I tried the camera and display without installing the antenna and it works just fine. It still easily picks up the reception from the camera at the rear of the vehicle. So, the display is nicely mounted on the back of my visor.Night vision is very clear and during daylight, the camera does not get any glare from the sun. There is also a decent range of vision. My only issue is with the camera mount on the license plate. I have tightened the tiny screws to hold the camera in place at the right angle but sometimes when I close the rear door the camera drops down a bit. So, every few days I have to readjust it. Larger screws would have been nice as these are tiny.In terms of wishlist items, I have just one. I do not like the coiled power cord. I would much rather have a non-coiled cord. This helps when mounting and installing it. I ran the cord through the pillar trim and although I was able to un-coil it, it made the install a bit harder. Not a big deal but I think that they should provide an uncoiled power cord.

Great Product Support
I have used this camera for 8 months and through a Northeast winter and it always performed well on my 2008 GMC pickup that did not come with a camera at that time. Occasionally there was a second or two delay in transmission of the image, but it was always good. Suddenly, it stopped working. After troubleshooting the problem, I determined the camera stopped working and contacted the company. They honored their warranty and sent me a new one. Because the system is modular, it was easy to sync to the monitor and install. Back in service. Great product support.

Will it transmit a good dependable signal to the monitor.
Once you figure it out. The screen and camera are very good. But the cigarette lighter plug is a piece of junk. I had to trouble shoot it with a meter to find out it was intermittent. It does not make good contact with the female outlet. I replaced the male cigarette lighter plug with a high quality one, now it works perfectly. I don’t know anything about a battery life. I am satisfied with the picture quality. Yes I would buy another.

Great, when it works....
The media could not be loaded. Love the display, love the picture quality and the on/off switch, also loved the ease of installation. But the unit only works about half of the time!! Never works at night and rarely in low light conditions and even on a bright sunny day it often just doesn't work. I tested the unit prior to installation, installed it per instructions (I have previous wiring experience) and have since rechecked the wiring connections, all good! It is a wireless connection issue of some sort because whenever it decides not to come on, the monitor comes on, the welcome message is displayed, the backup lines come on briefly but then the no connection indicator is displayed and the screen goes blank/black. 5 minutes later in the exact same conditions, it works perfectly....The troubleshooting/tests I've done were all while parked in the driveway or in the parking lot at work so the issue is not because I went over a bump. The antenna on the back of the display is tight and I have moved the camera antenna around a little with no results. I contacted customer service over a week ago but no one has responded. Maybe I just got a bad one? Would like a response from the manufacturer at some point..

Easy to install, clear picture
I really went back and forth on which backup camera to buy for my 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I am very happy with my choice after over a month of using it. I was skeptical of wireless, but it went with it because it was easier to install. The monitor us mounted to my windshield with the suction cup, the wire is shoved into a dashboard crevice and plugs into 12v outlet. The camera is mounted to my rear wheel with zip ties, which is not exactly professional, but since Jeep license plates aren't centered, there aren't a lot of other options. I did look at some fancy (expensive) mounting brackets, but the zip ties are find for now. I drilled into the side of the brake light to run a wire to the reverse light wire. There are others to wire it, but again, this was easy and practical. There is a lag on the monitor due to it being wireless. It takes a beat to turn on, and the image is a second or so behind real-time, so you have to keep that in mind. I am very happy with this purchase, especially for the price.
